The Black Stars’ captain then rushed to a Doha hospital to see her 7-year-old daughter after the match.

Ayew’s daughter is now recovering, according to reports.

On Friday, Uruguay scored Ghana 2-0 when the Black Stars needed just a point to qualify for the knockout stage of the 2022 World Cup.

Reacting to Ghana’s defeat, Andre Ayew said: “I am very disappointed with the results. We had the opportunity to go to the next stage, I got a penalty and I missed so it is difficult to take.
